BBC has struck deals with Wi-Fi firm, The Cloud and Software giant, Adobe, over its promising iPlayer platform.
The Cloud is going to distribute BBC content for free through its network of hotspots around the country. Both the BBC network of websites and TV content are going to be accessible.
Also according to a spokesman, both Linux and Mac versions of the iPlayer will be available by the end of the year.
In a separate deal, BBC has announced that it will be using Adobe Creative solution to create a Flash platform that will allow users to access content through an even wider range of devices and media.
BBC is the world's largest content producer, churning out nearly three quarters of a Petabyte of digital content yearly.
The BBC's director of Future Media and Technology has also hinted that the corporation is going to provide with much more HD content in the near future.
