New-to-the-market Nimbuzz has released an audio and text IM program that promises to bring together some of the biggest communities out there under a single, unified interface, something that Digsby has been doing for the desktop.

Interestingly, Nimbuzz is available both for PCs and for Mobiles although the Mobile version is more complete and sturdy than its desktop counterpart and works with Skype, Google Talk, AOL IM, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo IM, Jabber and even Myspace and Facebook.

Nimbuzz users will be able to call, chat and text their contacts for free, although mobile users would probably need to incur data transfer costs.

More than 500 handsets are expected to be compatible with Nimbuzz and will work on 3G or Wi-Fi networks; a Windows Mobile Version should be ready within weeks.

Accoridng to CBRonline, Nimbuzz will also offer a part-VoIP, part-Analog call service where the user only needs to pay for local dial-in costs in 50 countries worldwide.

The Netherlands-based firm expects to generate revenues from advertising, sponsorship deals and product placement.
