EU cybercrime initiative is going to be expensive for ISPs
I was interested to see a report over on Betanews that European ISPs are more than a bit concerned about the cost if complying with EU cybercrime proposals, but how one expert says it could cost them more if they don't comply.

The warning comes after a report from the EU which recommends that ISPs band together to block DDOS attacks, as well as other forms of attacks that impact on t'Internet's overall IP traffic levels.

But, says John Maddison, Trend Micro's vice president, ISPs may not have much of a choice in the matter, as bandwidth increases so does the effective firepower of the bad guys.
