Microsoft has issued its monthly security patch for July, citing only four vulnerabilities as ‘important’, and none of them are listed as ‘critical’.
The patch didn’t provide any fix for its recently declared probable attack on its Snapshot Viewer ActiveX control; however, the company has already suggested workarounds to tackle the problem.
The pack comprises of four bulletins containing nine software vulnerabilities in various applications, including- MS Outlook, Windows Explorer, and Exchange Server.
The first patch addresses flaw in Windows Domain Name System (DNS) protocol, which would have allowed hackers to redirect the web traffic.
The other update addresses flaws in Outlook Web Access and SQL Server, which could have let the attacker acquire the login rights of the original user.
One of the patches also deals with closing hole in the Windows Explorer which allegedly allowed the hacker to remotely take control of the affected system.
