So what's going on at Best Western?

So what's going on at Best Western?

Depending on who you talk to and what newswire you read, it could be eight million guests that have had their check-in details nicked. Or just eight at one hotel.

But whilst the West Bestern hotel chain piffles around about the numbers, the reality is that its security systems have failed and guests - including myself - have good reason to be worried about their data going walkies.

Some sources claim that West Bestern auto-deletes the card details of its guests seven days after they've checked out.

If that's the case, then how come I can use my gold-coloured loyalty card at the Waterloo hotel in North Wales and again at the Dean Court Hotel in York several months later and my card details are instantly
accessible by the hotel clerk?

Words like spin, spin and spin are coming to mind.

The bottom line is that MY DETAILS have potentially gone walkabout at Best Western and the chain is PREVARICATING about the numbers, not the fact that its security has been compromised.

An apology would be nice...
